This week in Reading, we will begin on building our class community by getting to know each other and creating student notebooks to use during class to keep us organized. We will begin each class by reading a poem and practicing reading aloud fluently using the 4 types of oral reading:
Be sure to ask your child how to use each strategy and join in on the fun by reading with them using their daily take home poem. Students should practice these poems by reading them at least 3 times each. Students that return poems with parents signature will earn tickets towards our class store. Students will be able to show off their mad oral reading skills at our upcoming Title 1 Family Reading Scavenger Hunt. Invitations to the special event will be coming home this week! Be on the lookout! Secret Phrase/ Joke: Q: Why did the teacher put on sunglasses?
