Wow! The semester has flown by! I am so proud of the progress students have been making. We have been working hard on individual goals and focusing on oral reading in Title 1 Reading. Continue to read with your child over break. One fun way to celebrate the holidays is to read Holiday and Winter stories. This is a fun time for you and your child to read together. One oral reading strategy you can use is called partner reading. This is when you take turns reading; one reader reads a paragraph or page and then it is the next readers turn. It is a great way to model good reading skills to your child as well as providing practice and fun!
We had our class Winter Fluency Read parties this week. Students brought in Winter and Holiday stories to share with their classmates and we drank hot chocolate. The kids did a great job! We got to hear a lot about family traditions and practice our fluency! Check out the fun!
